Mayaquez Zoo in Puerto Rico

Yesterday Matthew and I visited the zoo in Mayaguez, PR. I thought it was going to be boring with not very many animals, but it was actually pretty well kept and big in size. We had a great time and recommend it to everyone. It's a good thing to do at least once while you're here. We saw a lot of beautiful animals.

This little bird was so funny. He would scoot over on that railing every time I got close to him. I couldn't stop laughing. He didn't want me anywhere near him.

I love tropical flowers. I couldn't stop taking pictures of them.

This guy scared Matthew and I. When we first looked into the cage we didn't see anything then he just jumped up on that log and scared the heck out of us. It was funny...I'm glad no one was around :)

Camels in the rainforest, how ironic.

These things are everywhere in the zoo, with the turtles, zebras, monkeys...all over. The first one I saw was a big deal, then I didn't care for them after seeing them everywhere.

It started to rain...no surprise, which is why we just happen to have an umbrella.

He was very shy and would not come out...or she.

Uzziah's latest words and phrases

Uzziah is quite the talker, he's been saying some pretty funny stuff lately. He cracks me up.

Uzziah was pretending to be a dinosaur the other day, a T-Rex to be exact, and asked:

"Hey mom what are you doing?"

I replied, "oh I'm just sitting; what are you doing?" I asked him, and he goes

"oh, I'm just T-Rexing"

While taking a walk Uzziah ran over a snail with his bike and looked at me all concerned, then said, with some ease flowing into his face,

"that's ok, he's with Jesus now"

I couldn't help but laugh

Uzziah always gives me a hard time about putting his clothes on. This particular time I was calling him to put his pj's on, mind you HE was the one asking me to put them on. Well every time he asked to put them on I'd say ok come here and I'll do it, then he would run away or simply not come to me. I hate chasing him around and finally a few minutes later he goes:

"Mom, you forgot to put my pj's on"

I say: no, I didn't forget but every time I try you don't let me. I hope that this time you let me"

And he says: "well I hope so too"

My sister and I get together once every two weeks to take the kids to the library and then go out to lunch. Well Uzziah really wanted his cousins to come over after the library and tells auntie:

"Hey auntie, you wanna come to our house, it's ok we have food"

I guess he wanted to ensure her that we wouldn't miss lunch if they came over. So cute.

May 2013 (2yrs)

I was eating a sandwich made with whole grains, so the bread was brown, while he was eating a sandwich made with white bread and Ziah says:

"Mom what does your bread have in it?"

Mom: "It's got whole grains, it's really good"

Ziah: "Oh, mine has polar bears"

March 2013 (2yrs)

While going up the stairs

Mommy: "Come on Ziah I'm the leader"

Uzziah: "No mom I'm the leader, you're the lion"

Mommy: "Ok, I'm the lion"

Jan 2013 (2yrs)

Uzziah has been potty training and is doing so good with it. He's had a bit of a problem going #2 however. A friend suggested getting him a few of his favorite toys (monster trucks) and setting them right in the bathroom, everytime he goes #2, he gets a toy. Anyway grandma was in the restroom and when she was all done Ziah says with so much excitement in his voice: "Grandma, good job you get a monster truck!!!"

Dec 2012 (2yrs)

We had just bought Ziah some monster trucks to add to his obsession and after getting in the car Matthew was busy looking at an email on his phone. Ziah anxious to get home says: "Come on peoples, let's go, I want to play with my monster trucks."

Nov 2012 (2yrs)

Uzziah accidentally hurt me with one of his toys while he was playing

Mommy: "Ouch, that hurt."

Ziah: "Sorry mamma, that my fault."

We were watching a church video one Sunday morning and Ziah says: "Mamma, I wuuuv Jesus Chwist"

"Mamma you beauful and Sofia beauful and Ziah is Handsome"

Daddy: "Ziah what does Daddy like to eat?"

Ziah: "Tacos"

Daddy: "What does mommy like to eat?"

Ziah: "Tacos"

Daddy: "What does Sofia like to eat?"

Ziah: "Boobies"
