A Visit from Sofia and Sammy

My friend Sofia and I grew up together, we've known eachother for over 20 years. During our sophmore year in highschool she moved to North Carolina. I was so sad to see her go, but we try to keep in touch as much as we can. She came to California a few weeks ago.

Discovery Science Center

One of my best friends came to visit California. She actually came to meet Sofia, my friend's name is Sofia as well. She was here with her little boy Sammy and pregnant with twins, so I really appreciate her coming all the way from North Carolina to visit. While she was here we went to The Discovery Science Center, a very neat and interactive museum for kids. They had all kinds of things to see and touch, the kids had a blast, we were all so tired by the end of the day. Matthew laying on a bed of nails

Love his face here, hilarious
They had an area where you can grocery shop
Wind Tunnel, it went up to 78 miles per hour, my hair was a mess when I got out of there.

New Years 2012

My sister-in-law Crystal bought us tickets to see horse racing on New Years Eve, they had a special event for the holiday. My niece Naomi loves horses, one of her favorite movie is Secretariat, she dressed up as a jockey for Halloween a few years ago too. She also takes horse riding lessons and is only 5. I've never seen horse racing before, but have always wanted to see it live. It can definitely be addicting if you go to win money, there's people that are really into it. No bets were placed on our part of course, but we still had a great time. Here's the trumpet guy, letting everyone know that the race is about to start.
It was really cold, my mom gave this fox hat to Uzziah for Christmas, he loves it.
I loved the back drop to the track it was beautiful with the mountains in Santa Anita.
Uzziah loved these tractors that smoothed out the dirt for every race.
Some of the jockeys and their horses
Poor Sofia was so tired by the end, you can see it in her little face.
This is one of the winning horses
Nana bought Ziah and Naomi stick horses from a gift shop at the end of the races. They drove home happy.
That night we did our usual vision boards, we cut out pictures and words from magazines that represent goals we want to accomplish throughout the year and put them on a poster board, that way we can look at our goals everyday and take the appropriate steps to accomplish them. One of our biggest goals this year is buying our own home, so excited!!! Happy New Year everyone.
