Christmas 2012

Christmas Sunday we've made it a tradition to visit convalescent homes and sing Christmas carols to the residents there. Our brother-in-law Toafa works with Alzheimer residents and has opened up his place of work for us to bring a little bit of Christmas cheer to these lovely individuals. Tata dressed up as Santa Clause, the kids loved it.
Sunday evening we usually visit my father-in-laws family in L.A. and share gifts with them.
Christmas eve, like always we spent with my family, not sure why I didn't take pictures, but we always perform a christmas song or anything really in front of the family. This year we did Once there was a Snowman, from the Primary children's song book, because it's the only song Uzziah knows and we wanted him to participate. Anyway, Matthew dressed up like a snowman and we sang the song. Fun, fun. We also made gingerbread houses for the first time this year. I made the gingerbread dough and royal icing from scratch, baked it and took it over for the family to decorate and put together. I was quite impressed, the gingerbread was tasty too. Definitely doing that again this year.
Christmas was so fun this year because Uzziah understands so much more. Santa Clause brought him what he asked for, a yellow monster truck. He was so excited, we saw Santa at church for our ward christmas party and Uzziah wanted this monster truck so bad that he put his fears aside and walked right up to Santa Clause, sat on his lap, and told him what he wanted. I said, ok Santa knows what you want now. So Christmas morning when he opened Santa's gift, the look on his face was priceless. He was so grateful. Sofia got earings from Santa. We just pierced her ears a few days ago. I'll have to post those pictures in another post.
