Monterey, Ca

We just got back from a trip to Monterey. We had such a blast. The reason for our visit was due to an optometry conference held there once a year and we just couldn't miss out, plus Matthew needs the continuing education credit. Monterey is gorgeous, lots to do, and the weather is great. We rented a two-bedroom house that reminded me of a little english cottage, it was small, but cozy and way better than staying in a hotel.
The first day we were there we visited a park called Dennis the Menace. This park had everything a park could have and more…tunnels, cool bridges, even a little maze.
This is another park we visited just around the corner form our rental home. The next day we visited the Monterey Aquarium, which is said to be one of the best in the west coast. I could agree, not only was it ginormous but the aquariums themselves were very unique, cool features, and lots of things to explore, especially for the little ones.
The third day we visited the fisherman's wharf, a must do, specially when you have fresh clam chowder sampling at every restaurant down the pier. We had a delicious lunch and walked around the shops, AND got to see seals, lots and lots of seals. They hang out near the wharf at a local restaurant. Workers there fillet fish for the restaurant and then toss the left over skin to the seals and they go crazy, so that was a plus.p.blogspot.com/-WqiLMec1n-I/Uow_QxfB5XI/AAAAAAAAFB4/OUogJS-XzQ0/s1600/IMG_8659.jpg" imageanchor="1" > The kids also got to hold a parrot and a macaw from this really nice man with a booth booth. He lets people hold his birds for a picture in hopes of getting a donation. On the last day we got to visit Pebble Beach, a very famous golf course. We took the scenic route and was worth every mile, with breathtaking ocean views and a look at multi-million dollar homes. All I could say is WOW. These house, or should I say mansions, were gorgeous. On the way home we stopped by Hearst Castle off of the Pacific Coast Highway, another amazing trip.
