My sister-in-law, Crystal gave Matthew and I tickets to Wicked (a play based on the Wizard of Oz). I've been wanting to see this for a long time, I'm beyond excited to go. I can't wait. Everyone I've talked to that's seen it says it's the best play ever. Thanks Crystal!

First Class Flight
So on our way to the Airport one of Matthew's buddies from school calls us and tells us that our flight will be late and we would miss our connecting flight; his buddy was taking the same flight to Houston so he knew. Anyway, we get to the airport and they confirm that it's true, so the lady is trying her best to help us out. Finally she tells us that we will have to switch to Delta Airlines and fly FIRST CLASS. I was so excited and it was my first time flying that way. I enjoyed it very much and Matthew took advantage of everything, even the hot towels! It was great.
Christmas Eve
So we celebrate Christmas the Latino way. We stay up Christmas Eve and open presents at twelve o'clock midnight. It was really fun this year. My sister melina planned a whole program with a spiritual lesson, games, and good food. My sister Alma surprised the whole family with a homemade DVD that had a slide show of 2007 family pictures. It was really nice we laughed at all the funny pictures and enjoyed it very much. She gave us all a copy as a gift. The food was to die for and I think I gained about five pounds, I just can't resist. Guess what my New Year's resolution will be...Haha.
Alma and Alejandro
Matthew and his favorite brother-in-law.
My brother and his wife April. We were just hangin' around waiting for twelve o'clock to come around.
This was the first time Matthew was able to meet my grandparents, we were supposed to go to Mexico this year, but they came to California instead.
My sisters are so photogenic

Thanksgiving 2007
I think it's become an unwritten tradition, but every Thanksgiving, since we've lived in Puerto Rico, we've been invited to the Nielsen's home. It has been such a blessing because we feel right at home with them and the food is always great. I will really miss them when they move this year.
Wendy had a beautiful table setting.
We met a nice Cuban family that day, this is Matthew playing a pool game with their son Kevin.
We had a very competative game of foosball. In the end, Matthew and I lost!
These are the pies I made. I was so proud of them.

6 Things About Me...
1. I was born in Mexico, Tizapan el Alto, Jalisco to be exact. However, I was raised in California since about a year old. I haven't been back in about 6 years but I'm dying to go. My grandparents still live there and a few other aunts/uncles and cousins. I love it there, it is an awesome get away.
2. My favorite color is green. I don't know why I just think it looks good with any other color you put it next to. I also love nature, which is mostly green.
3. I was married 2 days before arriving to Puerto Rico. I know crazy. Everything was so fast, but it was either I marry Matthew and leave to Puerto Rico with him, or I don't and never see him again. Which was not an option, because we really loved eachother. We were sealed in the San Diego Temple Aug. 5th and Matthew started school the 8th.
4. I love to cook. When I was younger I would always be in the kitchen helping my mother with whatever she was cooking. I would watch her make all her yummy recipes and began learning just by watching. I have mastered most of her recipes but still have a lot to learn. My favorite is going to Emily's and having cookday with Rachel and I. Haha, we have so much fun.
5. I have 3 sisters, one brother. I love my siblings, they are so fun to be around. We all get along so well. I hope that when we all have our own families we can all live next to eachother, that would be the best.
6. I love anything with art and creativity. I just started my new hobby with painting. I never took courses, but I feel like my talent is improving. The more I do it the more techniques I learn. I love doing things with my hands (crafts, cooking, eating, painting, puzzles, etc.).

Hair Cut!
I just got my hair cut last week. I love it. It feels so good to have short hair in Puerto Rico. Matthew likes it too, which is surprising because he ususally hates short hair.

Mayaquez Zoo in Puerto Rico
Yesterday Matthew and I visited the zoo in Mayaguez, PR. I thought it was going to be boring with not very many animals, but it was actually pretty well kept and big in size. We had a great time and recommend it to everyone. It's a good thing to do at least once while you're here. We saw a lot of beautiful animals.
This little bird was so funny. He would scoot over on that railing every time I got close to him. I couldn't stop laughing. He didn't want me anywhere near him.
I love tropical flowers. I couldn't stop taking pictures of them.
This guy scared Matthew and I. When we first looked into the cage we didn't see anything then he just jumped up on that log and scared the heck out of us. It was funny...I'm glad no one was around :)
Camels in the rainforest, how ironic.
These things are everywhere in the zoo, with the turtles, zebras, monkeys...all over. The first one I saw was a big deal, then I didn't care for them after seeing them everywhere.
It started to rain...no surprise, which is why we just happen to have an umbrella.
He was very shy and would not come out...or she.

Homemade Pizza!
This was my first homemade pizza ever. It came out a little funny, I didn't even have a pizza pan. But it was not bad.
Summer Trip
This summer we went to Sea World, it was the first time I had ever been there. I loved every minute of it, we had such a fun time. I hope we can go again next year.
We got to dine with Shamu, it was phenomenal being so close to those enormous creatures.
This is Matthew and I in a Polar Bear Cave.

Elvis in Hawaii
I really wanted to him to be Nacho Libre for Halloween this year, but this was just as good. He'll have to do that next year. I'm making his costume, so he has no excuses. I gotta go find some light blue and red spandex. Haha, So funny!

Castillo San Cristobal
This is castillo san cristobal in Old San Juan, a Spanish fort in Puerto Rico. It was built by the Spaniards to protect against land based attacks on the city of San Juan.
