Thanksgiving 2012

We had a Thanksgiving dinner with Matthew's family on Thursday then again on Friday with my family. I love turkey, so having it twice in a row was fantastic. This year I decided to get my bake on early. I made pumpkin rolls, a pumpkin-pecan cheesecake, and mini pecan pies. First time making all, they came out really good. We tasted the pumpkin-pecan cheesecake at the Cheesecake Factory Restaurant a few years ago and Matthew fell in love, we were going to buy one for our Thanksgiving dinner until I found out it was $50, I said no way, I finding that recipe and making it myself. I did for less than $10. Matthew was happy and very impressed, definitely making it again next year.

The kids made the cutest little turkey craft out of a pinecone.

Sofia's Baby Blessing

Sofia was given a baby blessing on Sunday, November 4th by Matthew. He did a great job, the words that were pronounced in the blessing were so beautiful, I remember him saying that she will walk gracefully, I thought that was unique. My mother crocheted her dress and also made her headband. I think it's become a tradition in our family because she has made all of my nieces blessing dresses. We took family pictures but somehow I erased them from my camera, urrr. I was so bummed, good thing these were saved.

Pumpkin Patch 2012

We went to two different pumpkin patches this year, one was better than the other, but we had fun nonetheless. Uzziah rode a pony for the first time, he was a little nervous but the lady that was in charge strapped him right in without giving Ziah time to change his mind, which I was glad for because as soon as the pony started walking he realized how much fun it was. I look forward to pumpkin patches every year I love how fun they are for the kids.

Nana's 60th Birthday

My sweet mother-in-law turned 60 this year and looks better than ever. She is such a wonderful person, I'm so grateful to have her in my life. I have learned so much from her. We had a black and white themed party to celebrate her birthday. It was a success, we ate delicious food, had great company, and danced the night away wth music from the 60's and 70's.

Uzziah's 2nd Birthday

This is a little late but Uzziah turned two Sep 12th. We celebrated by going to Sea World, he had a blast and absolutely looooves animals. His favorite were the sea turtles, he kept wanting to go back to that aquarium exhibit.

Then a few days later we had cake and icecream with the rest of the family. Uzziah is such a talker and wants to do everything by himself. He is currently potty training and is doing very well, one day he decided he wanted to go in the toilet, it made my whole year!!! I'm so proud of him. His encouragement to keep going have been monster truck toys. He loves them and wants to play monster trucks all day long. His favorite show is Modern Marvels: Monster Trucks from Netflix he watches that at least once a day. He's such a sweet boy. Happy Birthday Ziah!

Sofia is laughing out loud now, she loves to babble, scream and slobber all over anything in front of her. She is such a happy and easy going baby, we love her so much.
